My Every Day Truck is a 2004 Ford F250
Superduty Super Cab 4X4 Diesel Shortbox
- I bought it new in October 2004 from Stockfish Ford, here in North Bay, ON
- I have driven it only just over 57,000 kilometers as of July 2011.
- I broke it in by Ford specifications - up to 5,000 kms.
- The paint is Dark Toreador Red above Silver Metallic Clearcoat and I just love it.
- The engine has some mild modifications to ensure better efficiency and a bit more power, as if it needs it.
- The Air Filter is Donaldson to help with the normal aspirational breathing problems caused by manufacturing tolerances
- I put Amsoil 5W40 Diesel Motor oil and a new Amsoil Filter at 10,000 kms. I changed it at 25,000 & 50,000 km's
- When I started it after the first upgrade to Amsoil fully synthetic oil, I could feel the difference in the way it runs.
- I flushed ALL fluids, transmission, differentials, transfer case, engine at 25,000 kms and replaced them with Amsoil Synthetic fluids.
- The ENTIRE temperature range of the operating motor and transmission dropped by 50 degrees.
- I replaced the muffler with a Turboflow straight thru, which lowered EGTemperatures by 50 degrees.
- I replaced the coolant and put a coolant filter on the truck at 50,000 kms to help the EGR system from going bad.
